Someday LinkedIn may be a great way to get a job. For now, I'm just setting up a placeholder LinkedIn account so I can add to it once my professional career gets underway.

I'm on Pinterest

Hi Peeps - just a shout out to let you know I'm now on Pinterest! Woohoo! You can find me at Lyza Johnsen - Pinterest Profile

I don't know much about Pinterest yet but I'm figuring it out. Wow, there's much to learn on this website building stuff!

This photo is one of the Pins I saved because it's too incredible I wish I had street art like this where I live. I remember there being pretty fun street art in San Luis Obispo California when I visited there but only in a few random places. Mostly cleaned up.

In New York City there was incredible street art. Also in Kansas City. Someday maybe I'll figure out the meaning behind some of the tags, but for now I appreciate the art that's clever like this, or beautiful, making the cities and neighborhoods richer.

Cease Fire, that's a good start

Lyza Johnsen. I am hopeful for peace in the Middle East.
That Israel and Palestine have announced a cease fire is great news. Let's hope it will last. I'm so exhausted by war everywhere. Aren't you? Almost 99% of the world must prefer peace over war, but there still seem to be so much war. Guns, fighting, weapons, death, anger, animosity, fear, aggression, territorialism- sick of it all.

I'm On Reddit

I'm pretty excited to be on Reddit now. I've never joined before and I can say 100% i find it intimidating because there seem to be so many smart people on it but I'll give it a try. Maybe I'll get some good feedback on images I've taken, once I really get started with taking good solid photos.

To be honest I know the photos I"m putting up right now are just average, nothing special, becuase I'm focusing on learning website building more than uploading the highest quality photos. That'll come later.

For now, getting all the SEO stuff figured out and having fun!

Clouds are incredible, really... puffy visitors floating through our sky, delivering rain and shade and defying gravity being up there in the first place.

Talking to a friend

I was just talking with a friend today about how nice it is to not have to hear our former president's name every other hour anymore. Man that was fing annoying. So dumb and boring and irritating. He was a bully and a jerk and he inspired violence and crime and more hatred. What a relief to have that pig out of the news. Just a thought.

Wondering

How likely is it that the jury trial for Derek Chauvin verdict will get overturned? I extremely much hope it doesn't. Because that man is guilty and deserves every second in jail and then more.
I've been reading commentaries and opinions about how the verdict might get overturned. That would be a terrible disaster.

Accountability for guilty party, good job attorneys!

Thank goodness. A guilty verdict. I, Lyza Johnsen, am unbelievably happy that this guilty man D. C. (I don't even want to print his name, he doesn't deserve attention) is going to prison. What he did to George Floyd was murder and even worse because he was supposed to protect as a police officer. But obviously the police don't always protect.
Criminal justice needs reform. Policing needs reform. Sure, there are criminals out there and we need cops to keep the general public safe from fraud, swindling, theft, robbery, assault, and so many other things. I think we really do need police in some instances.
But we don't need them to be called out for non-violent events. We don't need them pulling out guns and shooting people during routine traffic stops. They shouldn't be profiling and pulling over minority people, or people of color, or people they have prejudice against.
Thank you to the investigators, the paralegals, the process servers, the assistants, the press, the court reporters, the judge and the jury.
A guilty verdict with a prison sentence is not good enough for George Floyd, but it's the best result that could be hoped for.

Important Legal Trials Everywhere

I'm, of course, super interested in the case against Paul Flores and his father in the Kristin Smart case in San Luis Obispo, but I'm also, of course, eager to hear the verdict in the Derek Chauvin case. The jury is deliberating as I write.

That criminal needs to be found gulity, needs to go to prison, needs to be held accountable for the horrible way he treated a fellow human being. What a pig. He was a cop - he should be stopping dangerous crime, serving search warrants, investigating fraud, stopping people from swindling one another - but not killing an innocent man.

Hell, a cop is absolutely not even supposed to kill a guilty man, am I right?

Also, more close to home, I'm following the case of Des Moines Register reporter Andrea Sahouri, who was pepper sprayed and arrested while reporting on a clash between protesters and police. It's a complicated one, but I hope in the end that journalists are protected from outrageous police brutality when covering trials, whether they are black lives matter protests, womens marches, or gun rights rallies. Journalists are so important, they've been critical during this entire covid ordeal, and they need to feel safe to be in the places where news and history are being made.

My twin

I've been looking online to see if my website is showing up, but so far no dice. The main thing that keeps coming up is an article about a woman with the same name, same spelling, Lyza Johnsen, who was found guilty of some fraud charges years ago. In san luis obispo, no less, which is where Kristin Smart was last seen and so it's weird that the same town has two connections to me.
I hope the Lyza Johnsen, the process server from Paso Robles who was convicted of fraud or swindling or something like that over 10 years ago is doing well. Or if she's a horrible person (which is hard for me to believe with a name as awesome as Lyza Johnsen!), well then karma.
I know I hope my name doesn't end up in a felony conviction article in the San Luis Obispo Tribune newspaper ever!
But I really do hope my website can start showing up, higher in google, because this is new stuff I'm sharing and I think it's fun to build a website.
I'm obviously very new to this, the website is still pretty rough, but it's a playground to learn about website building, SEO, and stuff like that.
